Liz Hopkins launched The Hopkins Group in Suffolk, VA in 2002 after an impressive 17+ year career in the Washington D.C. area. The Hopkins Group was formed to support individuals, small business owners and entrepreneurs with accounting, tax and financial consulting. Expertise and client relationships are the key to Liz’s success and she is proud of these long-term partnerships and ability to find and solve complicated financial situations.
Liz’s education and experience prepared her well to start her own firm. She received a Master of Science in Taxation from The American University in Washington, D.C. and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, VA. Liz started her career as an accountant at MCI Telecommunications Corporation in Arlington, VA. Her next step took her to Tate & Tryon in Washington D.C. for 13 years where she became a Tax Partner. Liz then moved to CyberCFO in Vienna, VA as the VP of Client Services/CFO Consultant and then the Director of Finance/Controller at VSA Corporation in Gaithersburg, MD. Liz’s entrepreneurial spirit and experience continue to help grow The Hopkins Group.
Non-profit and charitable work is an important part of Liz’s life. She served as the Chairperson for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Team Riverfront, a Board Member for Girls on the Run Hampton Roads, a Board Member for Wolf Trap Associates and a Chairperson for the Wolf Trap Ball.

Kristina joined The Hopkins Group in 2019 and specializes in Quickbooks Pro training, Intuit Pro, Hubdoc, Smartvault and Bill.com. She began her career in 2005 in Oklahoma before moving to Virginia. Kristina is a great support with sales and payroll tax preparation, financial statements, tax reporting, bookkeeping and assistance. Her experience and dedication to continued tax and accounting education makes her an excellent resource and a valued member of our team.
